Happy Birthday Laila!!!

I'm the Birthday Princess today! It's my first birthday and I'm all growd up now! But Mom still calls me her Baby Kitten. She's promised me real tuna out of the can for lunch and she is making tilapia, whatever that is, for dinner and I get some of that.
My Honorary Sister Pumuckl sent me this beautiful card. Thank you sis!

And our furriends over at Zoolatry made this cute card for me.

Lilly passed her check up

Well, Lilly's appointment at the V-E-T went well and she got a good report. She has lost one pound since two months ago so she is on appetite stimulants until she remembers on her own to eat more than she has been. She was very growly to Dr. Craig and embarrassed Mom. But hey, an ol' lady doesn't need all that poking around. And she peed in the PTU. Way to go sis! That will show Mom just what you think about going to the V-E-T!

Photo Hunt - Unique/Funny Signs

When Momma was in Ireland last summer, she thought it was very funny to find a Burger King sign there. She totally wasn't expecting it.

Don't tell Lilly, but she gets to go to the V-E-T today in the PTU. Better thee than me! She needs to have some needles stuck in her furs and get weighed as Momma feels she's losing some weight.

Formerly Feral Friday

Here I am glued to the screen enjoying the nice clean air. I have vague memories of being a wild little 6 week old kitten surviving out there in the cruel world. I'm so happy I was trapped and sent to my foster Mom until my furever Mom could come and discover me and take me home with her. And this Sunday, April 27, I will be celebrating 1 year of being in this world. I hope to see many, many more.

Thankful Thursday

I am very thankful I found my way back home after Mom let me explore the hallway and see the outside world from the back of our building.

Mom: Here Lilly, see, this is the view from the back of the building that you never get to see.
Lilly: WOW! It looks like we live in a big city and not the suburbs

Mom: Okay, Lilly, time to go back inside our house.
Lilly: MEOW! MEOW! MEOW!
Mom: No, Lilly, honey, that's not our door. That's Carey's door and he's not home.
Lilly: MEOW! MEOW! MEOW!
Mom: Silly girl! No, this way sweetie. This is where we live
Lilly MEOW! MEOW!! MEOW!

Mom finally had to pick me up and carry me to our door. Home sweet home!

We hope you get our post card soon! And today is Pumuckl's first birthday! Happy Birthday to you!!! Me, Laila, will also be celebrating my first birthday this Sunday, April 27. Maybe we can be honorary sisters!

Roomba back to M.I.A.

Remember back two weeks ago when Momma wrote that Roomba was missing and showed up again? Well, since that day, she has not seen him. She thinks he may have come back to say good bye that day and was moving on since he's a big boy now. She and her boss are very very sad and hope he comes back one day and is safe. Anyway, that's what they are trying to convince themselves that happened. After MiniMe leaves them, they will not be feeding the ferals at work anymore as it's just too painful to get so attached to them. They said this in the past but this time they are sticking to their guns!

Fur-rocious Friday

Stay off my new bed you bratty little sister, Laila!

Oh, yeah, Mom said we had a 5.4 earthquake here in Illinois 230 miles south of Chicago at 4:37 am this morning. We were sleeping so we didn't feel it. We checked all our pictures on the wall and nothing was disturbed. Not even one that moves with the least little noise. She said she did feel and saw the couch shaking with the 5.1 one in 1987.

Thankful Thursday

Here I am checking out my first cutip.

It looks like I'm smoking a cigarette.

Mom is very thankful that I really didn't show any interest in the cutip.

Mancat Monday guest

Meet our neighbor, Angel. Mom catsat for him this weekend while his Momma went to a seminar. She just loves him to death and wants him furry badly to live with us, but she couldn't steal him away from Auntie Dee. Lilly has met him before and our sister, Cerise, was his girlfriend when he would come up and stay with us for long periods of time. I have never met him, but am anxious to someday.

Mom is home safe and sound

MU SHUE, LILLY LU AND IRIS ARE SAFE WITH WITH THEIR MOM LAURA!!! WE ARE SO HAPPY!!! OUR PURRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!!! WE HAVE TEARS IN OUR EYES WE ARE SO HAPPY FOR ALL OF THEM.
We are still purraying real hard that a miracle of all miracles happens and Mu Shue, Lilly Lu and Iris are found. They have been in our thoughts constantly. Poor Mom Laura. We wish we could help her in some way.

Police car Mom rode in.

Officer John Raftery Cute Irishman!

Computers were down for half the trip.

The dashboard.

Mom had a great time! It was a lousy, rainy, cold day. Each policeman is assigned to a beat. John's beat is beat 9, the beat where Mom's work is. That was way cool as she knew the area very well since she's worked in it 19 years so he really filled her in on a lot. First call was a minor accident. Then helped get another accident out of a busy road that was the dividing line of our beat and another. Then they just drove around checking things out. Pretty boring. Mom kept saying she wished something exciting would happen. Then a call came in for another boring accident but we were pulled off that right away and sped with the lights and sirens on (whoopie!!!) to Woodfield Shopping Center where there was a report of a 17 year old girl who had taken 14 Triple C pills and had smoked some marijuana. We were looking for a white pick up truck with a cover and knew the license so we drove up and down the parking lot over by Macy's. Finally mall security spotted her and she wouldn't stop for them so again we put the siren and lights on to get there. Another cop tested her eyes and said she was definitely on something and then they put her in the back seat of MOM'S squad! She was so afeared the girl would talk to her but she didn't. She then got on the phone with the friend who reported it. They searched her car and purse. But they had to transport her to the ER because of her age to check her out to be sure. So we followed the ambulance to the hospital because John had to get the name of the doctor who was going to see her. Then we were able to leave and he drove Mom back to the station to get her car since her four hour ride along was over. What also was way cool was that they didn't know what Triple C was so Mom said it's probably slang for some drug and suggested John get on the internet and do a Google search and it was there! It's some sort of over the counter cough and cold tablet that causes a high when ingested in large doses. We were so proud of Mom that she thought to do this!

Mom and the police car

Our Mom signed up for our town's Citizen's Police Academy at the beginning of the year. It's a 12 week class meeting once a week Wednesday evenings to learn all about how the police department works. She signed up for some very dangerous extra credit. This afternoon she's going on a 4 hour police ride along! Please pray she gets home safe. She is so excited because she is such a "FBI wannabe". Hopefully she'll get to see a lot of cool (and safe) stops and be able to take a picture or two.

Uppermost in our thoughts and prayers today is Mom Laura and the fire in her apartment building yesterday. Please pray that she finds Lilly Lu, Mu Shue and Iris safe and sound. We can't imagine the horror she is going through right now not knowing if her babies are okay.

Lilly's new cat bed

Mom boughted me a new bed today when she was at Petsmart. See how is matches my furs?

Thank you Mom! I luvs it! It's an orthopedic pet bed with "egg crate" foam support. Since I'm a senior kitty (17 in July) she thought this would be comfy on my old bones. Boy, is she right! It's now in my closet on my shelf.

ASCPA DAY - GO ORANGE FOR ANIMALS!

Every year on April 10, the anniversary date of the founding of the ASPCA in 1866, the ASPCA will be celebrating ASPCA Day and encouraging animal lovers of all ages nationwide to GO ORANGE FOR ANIMALS! Going Orange on ASPCA Day is a tribute to the work of the ASPCA and a celebration of compassion and kindness for all living things everywhere. (Orange is the official ASPCA color and what better to celebrate than our love of animals?)

It was furry hard to find a picture of me with something orange since I'm a Pink Lady.

Spring fever

Hey, Lilly! I'm up here!

Laila, is that you up there?
Lilly, here, let me help you up to the top.

I guess Lilly wants to stay put.

Sunday it was in the 60's so Mom opened up all the doors and windows and moved our cat tree over in front of the slider so we could get lots of fresh air. Thanks Mom!

HE'S BAAAACK!!!!!

ROOMBA IS BACK!!! Mom said her boss went outside to look around the back lot of the building and when she came up to the front she was calling his name and he came out of the bushes!!! Everyone is sooooo happy! He was very glad to see them but very skittish and hungry and thirsty. But after a few minutes he let Mom pet him. This all happened around 11:40 this morning. What Mom thinks happened is he somehow got locked up in a warehouse Friday and when the people showed up for work this morning and opened up he made his great escape. MiniMe is very happy to see him too! Thanks to everycat for their prayers and purrs!!!

Monday Mancat Mystery

Please, effury cat, say prayers for Roomba. He has been missing from Mom's work since last Friday morning after she fed him. This weekend she kept driving over there looking and calling for him in the bushes, all around the industrial park and is really very sad and worried. In the 16 months she has been taking care of him at work, this is the first time he's not been there to greet her in the morning for his breakfast. He is always there. It is his home. MiniMe is there and she is sure he/she is lonely for him.

Mom just got to work and still no Roomba. This time she started crying. She is hoping someone trapped him and will find him a good home. But what is really scary is that a raccoon has been hanging around the last few days and she's scairt they may have gotten into a fight. But the raccoons have been here all the time on and off. Poor Mom!

The case of the missing furminator

For days now we have been helping Mom try to find our furminator. It is just nowhere to be found. We think the furminator burglar came in when we were sleeping and stole it! Well, Mom went to Petsmart yesterday and bought a new one. A new state of the art one and boy, do we luvs it! When I see it I fall over and beg for her to furminate my furs. Lilly will wake up out of a sound sleep and beg for furminating. Furminators have really improved over the last 20 years!

Formerly Feral Friday

It's hard to remember and imagine that once I was a tiny little baby kitten running around in the wild in the suburbs of Chicago. I've grown quite accustomed to being an indoor kitty and must admit I love it. Never knew how easy it would be to wrap the Mom around my tiny little paw. Okay, now for my morning nap.

Tunnel Tuesday

Here I am resting in my favorite toy of the moment. At night Mom and I play a fun game with the feather toy and I run in and out, attacking it from the inside, and pretty much destroying the tunnel, then Mom uprights the tunnel again. Mom laughs the whole time we play.
