Roomba is very happy to have me back

He now greets me at work at the side of the building where the parking lot is and leads me to the front door where the food bowls are. He just started that yesterday. It's so cute! Hopefully I can get that on video soon.

Missing my blue-eyed baby girl

My first day back to work my wonderful sister stopped in to see how I was doing and brought me these beautiful flowers and sweet card to cheer me up. It was so Cerise we thought. she was such a feminine little girl. I can't believe she's gone after over 17 years of having her. I know I did the right thing by her by helping her cross the Bridge. She had endured so much in the past year, healthwise. These little Himmies are really tough cookies. Her cousin, Cydney, and Chelsea, her New Jersey buddy, fought to the end also and lived long lives. I'd seriously consider adopting another from a Himalayan rescue group. They are very high maintenance and, therefore, that is why a lot of them are given up because they require so much attention and people just aren't willing to spend the time. To me all the attention is just extra bonding time. Lilly is so low maintenance. It's too soon to think about getting another little creature to share my life with. Right now I'm concentrating on helping Lilly deal with the loss of her big sister. She's doing much better and the roaming around crying it a lot better. I'm very careful not to say Cerise's name as she gets going again looking for her. So sad...

I love you baby girl! Until we meet again...

Good bye sweet girl...until we meet again.

It's 4:00am and I'm wide awake with only 2 1/2 hours of sleep. Still on Ireland time.

Sad news...

The minute I walked in the door last night at 6:30pm I called the vet to see how the girls were. They were doing fine but Cerise had developed a constipation problem over the weekend and was being treated for it. Then 1 1/2 hours later, after hours, the vet called saying I should come right away to see Cerise and possibly take her home as she'd taken a turn for the worse that afternoon. Well, when I got there I could tell it was "time" and I had to put her down. They were so afraid she wouldn't make it through the night. I was just destroyed! My little blue-eyed baby girl had hung on just long enough for me to get home to say our goodbyes. I brought Lilly home with me then rather than going back today to get her. Poor thing. She's walking around crying and I swear she's looking for Cerise too. The whole trip I was preparing myself for this just in case. In fact when I dropped them off the day before we left I said my goodbyes to her "just in case". My little girl gave me 17+ years of much love and happiness. I know Binky was there to greet her at thebridge and now they are both together again romping around in the green fields like when they were kittens.

*tears*

Vacation mode

Lilly resting up and enjoying her couch before the trip to the "hotel" tomorrow. I'm missing them already! :(

Tight squeeze

I bought this new cat bed for Cerise for when she and her sister, Lilly, go to the "hotel" for their vacation starting this Friday. It's the smallest one I could find but "Two Ton Lilly" insists it was bought, and made, just for her. So far Cerise hasn't gone near it.

Don't know what all the "buzz" has been about

I have yet to see a cicada...thankfully! The older sections are being inundated with them. Back in 1976 I lived in one of those towns and was terrified to walk to work!

Eureka, Roomba's mom

A month or so ago we noticed Eureka's tail had been somehow injured and some of it was missing. Cringe to think what may have happened to it. It just lays there limp now. Poor baby! It's such a hard life for the ferals.

Where Cerise goes when the air conditioning is on

But really only in the mornings when the sun is out.
