Easy like Sunday morning

A winter advisory is forecast for us today for 3-6 inches is the fluffy white stuff. Think this is where we are gonna ride this one out!

Our very good friend Misty needs all of our prayers while she is recovering from her emergency surgery yesterday. We love you, Misty! You are a tough fighter and will pull through this!

Hiding from Mom

Mom has never seen me hiding inside the tunnel before. Laila is the one who usually like to camp out in here. Now I see why.

Formerly Feral Friday

No more Christmas trees! Yay! Mom has decided to sell her tree with all the lights. She has real pretty signs up in all the laundry rooms here advertising it. I can't wait until it is gone! Right now it's sitting in a box in our storage locker, wherever that is. As long as I can't see it that's okay by me. She said she is donating any money she gets for it to the shelter Minchie and I came from.

Wordless Wednesday

Mom here. Laila update: Even after I got rid of the live pothos Laila was still scared and realized she was now focusing on the huge green silk pothos on top of the bookcase. It is now sitting under an end table with pillows leaning up against the sides blocking her view of it. The silk pothos has been up there since day one. No more Christmas tree, silk plants, etc. She is now out and about like her normal self. What a Mom won't do for her kid.

Tummy and toesies and tattle tail Tuesday

Ah, this is the life!

Mom finally found a beautiful hanging pothos plant yesterday that she's been looking for for years to hang in the kitchen on her brass hook to the right of the sink. Well, Laila is terrified of it! So yesterday Mom took it over to her rec center and gave it to one of the neighbors who works there and lives down the hall from us. Now she is trying to purrsuade scairty cat Laila it's gone and it's safe to come out again. Last Christmas Laila was also terrified of the Christmas tree so after 2 weeks Mom decided to take it down and put it away because having her girl out and about with her was more important. If Mom puts the tree up Laila will not go into any room where she can see it and since we only have 4 rooms, she won't do that to her. She can't even get to her food bowls. Moral of the story? No tree for us this year for sure!!! Anyone want to buy a 6 1/2 foot tree with about a gazillion cat ornaments?

Mancat Monday

My prizes came this week for winning Best in Show and Best Homemade Costoom Award in the 3rd Annual Cat Bloggers & Catsters Halloween Costoom Contest.

This package came from Angus Mohr who sponsored the Best Homemade Costoom Award.

These are all the cool prizes! Lots of yummy Temptations, salmon snacks, 2009 Cute Overload calendar and a little bag for Mom.

Angus' Mom made these beautiful swarovski Christmas earrings. They are so sparkly she can't wait to start wearing them.

And this is the package from Skeezix for the Best in Show.

My very own pink Skeezix hat! It's kind of big for me, so I'm gonna let Mom wear it. And a Best Friends sponsorship. This is the kitty we picked.

Don't laugh!

Thank you again to all who voted and to Skeezix and Angus for the prizes

The best way to survive the cold weather in Chi Town.

Saturday Caturday

Here I am helping Mom change her closets a few weeks ago. Why she would put a black item on top of the pile is beyond me. So, don't get mad when I get off and it's covered in Minchie furs. Mom never gets mad about that. She has those lint rollers all over the house.

Fierce Fighter Day - A Day of Memories

Whiskers and Purrs are sponsorin’ Fierce Fighter Day today in honor of Felix and all of Those Who Came Before who fought illnesses or any other struggles. We are honoring our three sisters who came before us also known as the Chi Town Trio.

Chi Town Trio

Binky Baby was a FIV kitty. We didn't find this out until she was about 10 years old. Because she was a very passive cat it was not passed along to Lilly and Cerise. She crossed the bridge March 5, 2005 at the age of 13. She was Mom's favorite.

Cerise lived to the ripe old age of 17 1/2. She was known as the vet's "Miracle Kitty" as she was a feline heartworm survivor back when not much was known about it. Then for years she battled kidney disease and crossed the bridge June 18, 2007. Cerise was around when we first started blogging.

Most of you remember our Lilly. She lived to the ripe old age of 17. Her kidney disease was being kept in control through diet but in the end it took over and she crossed the bridge June 5, 2008.

Now Mom has a new crop of kitties, us, Laila and Minchie. We are the loves of her life and keep her very amused and are a lot of company for her. She still misses the Chi Town Trio so much it hurts as they were with her for so long and helped her get through so much, just like we are now with this horrible economy.

Thoughts on Thursday

We are just so sad to hear Moki's sweet sister, Sissy, was helped to the Bridge yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers are with Moki and his family. Moki, you just has to get all betters now. Continued purrayers coming your way with your health issues.

Meet some more cousins

Today we would like to introduce you to our cousins, Bailey (on chair) and Bonnie (under the chair). They are the kitties of Mom's niece. Mom was with her both times when she adopted them.

We are giving Mom the weekend off. She's going back to that house in the woods to scrapbook with her sister and a bunch of other cropaholics. She'll be back later Sunday. So everybody have a great weekend!

Tag, we're it

Mom's been tagged by Furkidsmom to post 8 Random things! We have to post 8 things about her (or us)

Here are the Tag Rules:
1. Each player starts with eight random fact/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. A the end of your blogpost, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their name.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog.

Random 1: Mom was in a tornado when she was a little girl and it blew most of her house away.
Random 2: Mom has a real hard time holding me, Laila, because my furs are the silkiest and softest she has ever felt. Sometimes I slip right out of her hands.

Random 3: Mom spends way too much time on the innernets, especially reading blogs.

Random 4: Mom saves all the furs she combs out of us and keeps it in baggies. Call the men in the white coats!

Random 5: Everyone says Mom's bedroom looks like a little girls room with all the stuffed animals she has. All cats, of course!

Random 6: Mom wants to move to Ireland and marry a sheep farmer. But not this one!

Random 7: Mom has kissed the Blarney Stone.

Random 8: Mom has made so many wonderful friends (and so have we) on the Cat Blogosphere! We want to say a big THANK YOU to those who work so hard to keep it going.

We pick anyone who wants to do this fun Random 8 Tag.

Dona Nobis Pacem

Gigantic hugs and squees to Stryder, Scotchy, Sugar and Holmes MomBean for being so nice and doing a peace globe for us!!! You rock Kelly!!!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful I have a very plush place to
place my furs on.

While me, Laila, gets this rickety old box! Seriously folks, I luvs my box! It's been sitting here for a few months now and I've claimed it as mine. Maybe because I slept in a box when I was a teenie tiny feral kitten out in the wild. Maybe I was bornded in a box? Maybe a box was my home? But now I live in a very comfy, cat amusement park (as Mom calls it) and am very thankful.

We feel bad we don't have a peace globe today but we don't know how to do that fancy photoshop like most of the CBers. We need to have our staff go and learn how.
