A year ago today our sweet Minchie ran off to The Bridge. The sadness is still as strong as that day. Not a day goes by that his presence is missed. Where ever Mom went, Minchie was there. He was her little velcro kitty. His memory lives on in our hearts and will forever.
Mom waited way too long to make the bed yesterday and when she finally went to make it, she found me on it! This is a very rare occurrence nowadays. So of course she let me stay there. Needless to say, the bed never did get made.
This is also the 12th blogoversary of our
blog. It started out being just Mom's blog but in time we kidnapped it
and took over. We think she started blogging on this date because she
somehow knew Laila was born on this date and would be coming to live
with her soon.
Today's flashback is of our two favorite angel mancats, Minchie and Angel, back in July 2009 titled:
Angel is thankful that Mom picked him up (all 20 pounds of him!) and
put him on the cat tree for the first time. He really liked it until
she opened up the curtains so he could see outside better but the noise
and movement scairt him. Yes, Angel is still with us. We don't ever
want him to leave, but someday he must whenever the work gets done in
his condo. The man is very slow and not very reliable. Mom doesn't
even want to think of the day he must go back downstairs to live.
Today's theme is books. Here I am on top of Mom's bookcase guarding her
books. Of extra special guarding are her scrapbooks! There are
squillions of hours of time and green papers invested in them. Time that
could have been spent with us and green papers spent on us!
Mom got some very sad news yesterday. Our friend, JoJo,
who Mom cat sat for for the past nine years ran off to The Bridge. She had
diabetes and then things just started going wrong. Weight loss, kidney
issues, etc. Mom got so attached to her as she cat sat so many times to
even remember and most for very long periods of time while her daddy
traveled for business. She will be missed and will live on in our
