MiniMe

Mom has been off this week and hasn't seen MiniMe except for Memorial Day and last weekend. She's real excited since it's Saturday and gets to go over and feed him. Her boss has been in charge of him these past few days. He now does the "Roomba walk" with them (figure 8's between their legs as they walk), walks them to and from their cars and has even followed Karen into the foyer! He can't live inside the office since one girl is very allergic to kitties. Unfortunately coming home with Mom is out of the question because of Lilly. So for now he has a very safe home at Momma's office.

Thankful Thursday

We are furry thankful that Mom knows how to give sub-q fluids at home so Lilly doesn't have to go to the V-E-T every day to get stuck with the sub-q needle plus it would cost too many green papers.

Pulling up skin to make the "tent".

Sticking the needle in the base of the "tent" underneath the skin.

Mom adjusting the IV tube.

It's in and Lilly doesn't even know what's going on.

Such a good girl!

Happy Memorial Day

A very special thanks to all the servicemen and servicewomen who have and currently do serve our country so bravely to make it safe for us. Our Mom is a product of two WWII veterans. Grampa was a pilot in the Army and Gramma was a WAVE in the Navy and taught radio. They were very brave to volunteer to fight that war.

Where Grampa and Gramma are both buried.

Easy like Sunday morning

Lilly resting up before her next sub-q fluid session. Last night she started hoarkin' while the needle was in her furs and it fell out and was a squirtin' the fluids all over. Mom turned it off, wiped Lilly down and put another needle in her furs. What a trouper Lilly is! This doesn't happen very often so not to worry.

{{{HUGS}}} WEEKEND

This is the closest Lilly and I have ever come to hugging. I'm game but she's not. Losing our dear sweet furrend, Bonnie Underfoot, has really hit all of us hard on the Catblogosphere. Thinking of Victor and his fambily and purraying each of us stays safe and healthy.

Sad day in the Catblogosphere

Our hearts and purrayers go out to Victor and his family on the tragic loss of their beautiful girl, Bonnie Underfoot. It's amazing how attached we can get to our cyber friends. Our hearts are breaking right along with yours. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you all and all our Catblogosphere furrends.

Thankful Thursday

Mom has the big grin on her face because my bun and creatnine levels are (drum roll please) BACK TO NORMAL! Everyone at the V-E-T was shocked and very happy! I still have to do daily fluids and will be tested again in two weeks then if everything is still normal, I only needs fluids three times a week. One fluid bag has vitamin B in it so we'll see how I handle that. Mom has to keep a sack over the bag cause the vitamin B can't be exposed to light. I am feeling so much better and doing things I haven't done in a long time. This ol' gal isn't ready to hang it up yet!

Whisker Wednesday

Lilly doesn't know it yet, but today she is going to the V-E-T in the PTU to have her bun and creatnine levels checked and get weighed. Keep your paws crossed fluids don't have to be given every day.

Lilly wakes up out of a sound sleep when she hears Mom getting it out of the freezer.

Easy like Sunday morning

I'm so tired from helping Mom plant our flowers and entertaining our Auntie Shannon last night. Mom says I can have the day off and do whatever I want. She says we still have more flowers to plant once she decides what and what colors. She is very slow at this so who knows how long this will be dragged out! I'm glad she's restricted by our 6 x 13 foot balcony!

It's Caturday Saturday!

Laila made it on SOMC again!

This picture was taken last year after her spay surgery to keep her from bothering her belleh stitches. We sent it in in November and has just now made it on the site.

OUCH!

One day Mom was in the kitchen and I was right behind her, as usual, when all of a sudden she stepped back and stepped on my tail! I screamed and ran and this was what she found on the kitchen floor when she looked down. Lucky for me I have lots of furs on my bushy tail! She felt horrible but I still got the "How many times have I told you" lecture. Well, "How many times have I told you to look before you proceed with me around!"

Tunnel Tuesday

Here I am hiding from Mom, but being the clever Mom that she is, she spotted me among the spots right away. She says she can think like a cat so I don't stand a chance.

Monday Movie

This is the first time I've let Laila venture out onto the balcony. Last year she was a wild little kitten and didn't trust her not to go flying off. Lilly loves going out there and is such a good girl about wiping her feet going in and out.

Laila finally works up the courage and ventures out.

Happy Mother's Day

Momma was so touched when she got a Mother's Day card from our buddy Angel. We are so happy she is our Momma and we know she has enough love to go around to all her favorite kitties so we aren't the least bit jealous. We hope all the Cat Moms out there have a wonderful day and are treated like the queen of the house for a change. We love you Mom! Laila and Lilly

Feeling better Friday

After Mom gave Lilly her morning doses of her Pet Tinic and tummy medicines, she went over and hung out in the cube tunnel for a while. We think she is feeling better. Mom says she's definitely looking better and starting to fill out again. Fluids went well last night. Of course I, Laila, had to help Mom by staying right by her legs and feet and ready to help when needed. She's so proud of me for being such a good nurse and nice sister to Lilly. We want to thank everyone who stopped by yesterday giving their well wishes! It means a whole bunch!!!

Poor Lilly!

You are probably asking yourself what is this scairty looking thing hanging up in our kitchen. Well, Mom knew it would happen one day and that day is now here. Lilly is on sub q fluids like Cerise was a year ago. She's had kidney issues for a few years now and she hasn't been feeling good and not eating and losing weight and puking and yesterday morning was walking around crying a lot. So Mom rushed her to the vet and had to leave her for a few hours while they did all sorts of tests (to the tune of over $400 in green papers!). She is much better today. She's on vitamins and medicines to help her tummy when she eats and something for her loose poopies from the Petramalt because she was constipated. When Mom went back to bring her home she had a refresher course in administering the fluids and did great. So for now Lilly is on daily fluids for at least a week until she can be tested again. I am being such a good sister and not bugging Lilly and being very sweet and caring of her. Mom thinks it's so cute. So, please everyone, keep Lilly in your prayers that she is able to maintain her health and feel better. Thanks!

Easy like Sunday

Lilly's favorite thing to do on Sunday is help Mom read the paper. Sometimes it takes Mom all day to get it read. I wonder why that is?

Last night Mom was fast asleep on the recliner watching tv when the phone rang at 11:00. It was Auntie Dee calling to say she needed Mom's help as she fell and couldn't get up. She was putting a new Litter Maid together for our buddy Angel when she lost her balance and fell. Auntie needs a walker to walk since she is a purrson with a disability so Mom helps her and Angel out a lot. Mom needed to find a manbean to help so she knocked on the next door neighbor's door since she knows the teenage son. Luckily he'd just gotten home from work and he went down with Mom and they both struggled to get her up in a chair. So Mom got Auntie Dee some ice for her lip which was swollen and finished putting the Litter Maid together for Angel. Poor Angel was so scairt that his Momma fell and was so happy and thankful that his "Auntie Peggy" came down to save the day for them.

The story behind the cat tree pictures

Moki asked what the history was behind yesterday's picture. Well, here it is.

Laila: Hey! I was here first!
Lilly: Hey, brat, what are you doing up here on MY tree!

Laila reacts by immediately sticking her tongue out at Lilly. As you can see, Lilly is none too happy.

Laila: Oh no! She's touching me and gonna kill me! Help Mom!

Lilly: Now, where do you think you're going darling sister?

Lilly: Hisssssssssssssss!
Mom: LILLY! STOP IT!

Lilly: I didn't do anything!

Laila: WOW! Mom sure can scream LOUD!
