Anyone who knows Mom knows she's been looking her whole lifetime for a calico girl. She's quite obsessed with them.

Surrogate Mom

Mom is baffled why I still like to nurse on my lambie bed once in a while. It's just a habit that's been hard to break.

Life is starting to get back to normal for us today. We know Lilly is happy to be reunited with her sisters, Cerise and Binky Baby. It's so hard for Mom because she had her for so long and was such a huge part of her life and who she is. But I'm here to pick up the pieces and know I'm a huge part of her life too.

Lilly crossed very peacefully. Mom is a wreck but knows this was for the best. Besides a tumor, she was dealing with serious heart issues the ER didn't even tell her about. Her heart was not where it was suppose to be and it looked like there might have been a tumor there too. We are having a McDonald's M&M McFlurry in her honor tonight.

Delivery for Lilly

This beautiful plant for Lilly couldn't have come at a better time! Mom was reading an email from a friend about Lilly and was crying when it was delivered. Talk about purrfect timing! Thank you CoolCyberCats !!! Lilly loves it. Mom was hoping she'd start nibbling on it, but not even fresh plants and flowers can entice her.

Our last evening

We had a quiet evening at home last night. After dinner Mom gave Lilly her fluids which seemed to perk her up a bit. Then Auntie Shannon and Auntie Dee came over to visit and say their good byes. They sat there eating M&M McFlurries, which are one of Lilly's favorite foods and she wouldn't even take one lick.

Lilly got to lay in her pink bed on the couch between Mom and Auntie Shannon for the whole visit. A regular gabfest. And I, being the scairty cat that I am, hid under the bed. There were some leaky eyes. Truthfully that's why I hid in the bedroom so they couldn't see my kitty tears.

We have a 4:30 appointment today with Dr. Mindy. Mom has been going to her for a gazillion years and would only have her walk Lilly over the bridge like she has always done for all her furbabies. We cannot get over all the kind words of encouragement and sympathy from everyone! When things calm down we want to visit each of you to say thank you individually. It is so comforting knowing you all feel our pain and loss as you've all been there, more times than you care to have.

Good news/bad news

Lilly got to come home last night (good news) as there was nothing more the ER doctors could do for her. Her age and the CRF do not make her a good candidate for surgery. They were going to do a barium series but there would be no way she would be able to keep it down. Lilly was eating but throwing it right up. Mom will continue with the sub-q fluids and keep her 12:00 vet appointment Thursday and they will go from there. I have a feeling Lilly will not be coming home with Mom (bad news). *tears* Right now we are just keeping her comfy.

Lilly is home!

My sister, Lilly, is home! We will tell everyone more about what's happening tomorrow. The thingee in her tummy isn't going away so it is a tumor.

10:00 AM Lilly update

Lilly still hasn't eaten. Now they think there's something going on with her tummy. When the vets feel around it she starts to want to puke. They have been taking xrays and say her tummy is very large. Possibly a tumor or something blocking it? She's on a medicine that helps to empty out her stomach if there is something stuck in there. It helps the tummy to contract smoothly too. It's given underneath the skin. Her bun and creatnine levels are normal so that's good too! They'll give her another dose of the reglan later and another xray. Mom will go visit again tonight. Looks like another night in the hospital. We are purraying so hard it's just some sort of nasty blockage and needs to be pushed through. She's resting comfortably and they are so nice and keeping her so comfy. She's getting the best care and we feel very at ease she's in the best place for now. We're also lucky it's only about 2 miles from our house.
