Today's Photo Hunters theme is SYMBOLIC.
This is a storm cellar. It is SYMBOLIC of the tornado that blew our mom's house away when she lived in Kansas City, MO when she was in second grade. When her house was rebuilt, her parents had this put in. She went back for the 50th Anniversary Reunion in 2007. Her old house was empty and for sale so she got to walk around and when she saw the cellar, it brought back a flood of very scarey memories.
Our Daddy says he remembers going to the basement every night when the tornado season came. He grew up in Kansas City MO too.
