Easy like Sunday morning

OMC! There is actually a wind chill of 48F/8.8C this morning at 7:45 am!!! Sorry, Mom, there will be no bed making today.

One morning Mom was scooping the litter boxes and she found the surprise we left for her. She was so surprised she had to take a picture. We luvs you so much Mom!

Minchie's trip to the vet

Mom took me to the vet yesterday for my annual checkup and shots. I am not a happy camper in this picture!

Was hoping someone would open that door so I could make my escape. I was ready.

This is nice Dr. Craig. It wasn't so bad being he's a dude too. We're glad we made the appointment with him as he's leaving the practise and moving to a tiny little town in Iowa to take another job. We are very happy for him and his fambly but sad we won't see him again. We have known him for a longs time.

Boy, he checked me out real good listening to things I probably don't even know I have inside of me. Got my shot, weighed in at 11.12 pounds, a pedicure and got a clean bill of health. Mom wishes she could clip nails as good as him.

Mom is glad this is over as her ears are still ringing from all my meowing the whole time we were gone and I was a little hoarse when we got home. My ladycat, Baby Patches' Mom knows what I'm talking about in this area! Us Turks are very vocal!

Rainy days

It has been raining pretty much nonstop here for the past 24+ hours and to continue for a day or two more. The look on Minchie's face pretty much sums up what we'll be doing.

A friend of Angel's Mom gave her this staircase to help Angel get up on the bed. We are keeping it until Angel goes back home so he can get use to it.

One morning Mom heard all this commotion and rolled over and who should be climbing up the steps but Angel! She was shocked!

Like I said before, Mom is obsessed with the top of my head.

Yesterday Laila was going to take Angel out for a ride on her magic carpet but they had to come back after only a few minutes as Angel got air sick and puked up his breakfast. The magic carpet was in the shop for most of the day drying out.

Whisker Wednesday

My widebody whiskers show up real good here against the dark color of my recliner. Mom still says I have the longest ones she's ever seen.

We have our VCR all set up for the big premier tonight of the Whiskers and Purrs Gang tv documentary on TLC at 9pm E/8pm C! Angel's Mom is coming up to watch with us. This is so exciting!!!

We mancats are gonna be hangin on the cat tree today in case anyone needs to get ahold of us. Mom is abandoning us to drive into Chicago in the storms to go to an 89th birthday lunch for her former mother-in-law. (no, the ex will not be there) We are hoping she brings home some leftover cake for us to lick the frosting off of.

Mom speaking: After seeing all the other CB kitties loving and playing with their Kong Kickeroos, I couldn't resist getting one. Well, it now takes up permanent residence in their toybox that is overflowing with toys they ignore. The toy of choice is still their yellow nip nanner.

We are gonna be drinking lots of the waters today as the temps are going way up into the 90's with heat indexes in the hunnerds. Mom is staying put today too. She went out to dinner with friends last night at a Mexican restaurant and sat outside in the 98 degree heat index eating yummy floutas and sweating bullets. Stay cool everyone! You know where we'll all be!

World Cat Day

We are celebrating World Cat Day today by remembering all the wonderful cat shelters and foster homes that go above and beyond to help homeless cats. We both came from a cat shelter and the same foster mom, so today we also remember Sue, our foster mom, who works so tirelessly for all the kitties. When she isn't at her day hunting job, you can always find her at The Buddy Foundation.

Formerly Feral Friday

Angel and Laila have a love/hate friendship going on. Mainly because Laila likes to be the boss lady and Angel doesn't like being bossed around, especially by a silly girl. But overall, they are very good buddies.

Now that Mom doesn't have her day hunting jobbie anymore, she's really confused as to what day it is. She thought today was Wednesday and was going to do a Wordless Wednesday post but luckily she always goes to the CB blog first thing and that's when she found out what day it was. So now she is relying on the CB to help her know what day it is. Thank you CB for helping our Mom keep her days straight!

Are you calling me a clown?

Yesterday Mom was cleaning out the computer desk and way back on the bottom shelf she found very old back issues of Cat Fancy. She was very happy to have found this one dating back to December of 2003 because the feature breed of the month was the Turkish Angora. My ladycat, Baby Patches, and I are this breed.

Some quotes from the article:

  One thing the article didn't talk about was how vocal we are. Mom says I have a meow vocabulary that is unending. She can also imitate all of mine so well that people walking down the hallway must think we have two of me! And when you walk into our house, I will sing at the top of my lungs how happy I am that you came to visit me.

Minchie has decided this is where he's going to spend his Easy Sunday. Sorry Mom, you can't finish making the bed today.

Laila is keeping Mom's recliner nice and warm for her for her nap later this afternoon.
