Nothing showed up in the blood work as to why I've lost all that weight!
Everything was okay except the red blood cell count was a little low possibly a sign of early anemia. We were also told something else could be happening that just hasn't presented itself yet like diabetes, early kidney disease or cancer. We will retest in 3 months to see if any changes. In the meantime, Mom will be taking me back to see Dr. Mindy to maybe go on some vitamins. Mom may ask her to do an xray of my innerds too. Thank you all so much for your purrs and prayers!
Kind of a good news/bad new report. We hope Minchie is going to be fine.

ReplyDeleteWell, it's good nothing was wrong! We've heard shots of B12 can help, maybe that's something to look into.

We're glad there's nothing seriously wrong--you need to tell your mom to lay out a good buffet so you can gain some weight. ;-)

We are purring Minchie. But we are glad that there were no signs in your blood results. You know Mr Jinx had the same thing happen. He lost nearly 4 pounds and his blood work was all normal. So the vet wanted us to feed him kitten food once a day as an extra meal, and in a month he gained back 1 pound. He looks to us like he is holding his own but we'll take him back in January and Mom will have his blood work done again.
ReplyDeleteMinchie, I am so relieved there wasn't any thing bad found in your blood results, but I know it makes it confusing on why you're losing weight. I adore you so I'm happy there are no issues, but I hope it stays that way.
ReplyDeleteOh Minchie, we hope you are ok. The Ape says that she has had a few cats over the years who lost weight and nothing showed up and it turned out every time that it was like a precursor to thyroid stuff, which is manageable. We hope it's nothing but if it is we hope it's something that can be sorted out. Vets know this thing but just can't predict it or start meds without a definite result.
ReplyDeletePaws crossed you will be ok, sending you big fat purrs sweetheart
