Tummy Tuesday/World Spay Day

In honor of World Spay Day, Laila is celebrating by showing off photos of her bare/"covered" belly after she was spayed a little over four years ago.  And what a coincidence it falls on Tummy Tuesday!

After my surgery, they sent me home in this awful "bonnet" to keep me from bothering my stitches.

It felt so good sitting in front of the door airing out my tummy and getting all those nasty V-E-T smells off me.

Mom felt so sorry for me with that awful "bonnet" on my head, that she took it off and rigged up this contraption on my tummy to keep me from the stitches.  

Because my furs were so silky soft, I had trouble keeping the tube sock on so Mom reinforced it with one of her nylon knee highs.  Don't I look silly, but, hey, it worked!

Finally the knee high and sock got to come off!  Here I am showing off my shaved tummy.  You can barely see the scar.

The message of World Spay Day is that by spaying or neutering your pet, by supporting spay/neuter efforts in the United States and abroad, and by informing others of the importance of spay/neuter, you become an important part of the solution!

We are exhausted!  With all the birthday celebrating going on and Mom Paula's visit this week, we're just gonna chillax all day today.  Plus watch the Red Carpet and Academy Awards with mom tonight.

This one was easy.  Minchie is a very "loud" kitty!  Turkish Angoras are known for this.  He loves to talk and sing arias to Mom and when he gets going, it can be deafening.  He has a lot to say and wants to make sure everyone hears him.

I don't know why Mom waited until a day in the 40's to give me my first ice cube. Interesting but no taste. Maybe if she added some tuna juice?

Thankful Thursday

We are thankful that Mom Paula got home safe and sound back to Truffle and Brulee and that we all got to meet and spend time with her.

And today is our mom's birthday!  Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

We are getting all rested up for Truffle and Brulee's mom, Mom Paula's, visit tomorrow.  Mom Peggy will take the commuter train downtown to ChiTown to pick her up at her hotel and bring her back to our house for a 3 day visit!  We can't wait!  Hope everyone is having a great Easy Sunday!

MY BOOTIFUL FLOOFY TAIL

Mom took pictures of my bootiful floofy tail just for Daisy because she didn't realize just how floofy it was. I spend hours cleaning and grooming it so it is in tip top shape everyday and Mom combs it for me everyday too. She says it reminds her of a this and threatens to put me to work helping with the dusting here.

Box Addiction

No matter where Mom lays a box, Laila jumps in and claims it.  This one was laying in the foyer waiting to be taken down to the recycle dumpster in the garage.  One last hurrah.

Mancat Monday

 Minchie is curled up in an almost purrfect circle.

This is where Angel waits for Mom to come down to feed him.  Today was the first day his mom fed him to see if she could do it and she did it.  But he's still waiting for Mom to come through that door.  MOL!  Yesterday the moms went to a play and didn't get home until late so it was four hours past Angel's dinner.  When he saw Mom, he ran faster than she ever saw him run and was rubbing all over her legs he was so happy to see her.  Oh, and this is an old picture before he went on his diet.

Friends Friday - Fafnir (RIP)

Mom got an email from one of our long time internet friends that goes back to 1999 that our buddy, Fafnir, ran off to the bridge last month.  His mom is just heartbroken and so are we.  This handsome Norwegian Forest Cat lived in The Netherlands. 

Faffie in all is floofy glory.

Faffie only spoke Dutch, so his mom had to translate for us.

This is Snuitje, Fafnir's sister, who ran off to the bridge 5 months earlier.  We know their mom is so lonely without them.  Rest in peace, sweet ones.  You will always be loved but never forgotten.

 The other day Mom went to Michael's to buy me a fresh pack of my favorite toy, white turkey feathers.

 I love sniffing out the first fresh one out of the package.

All Minchie cares about is the plastic package they come in.

Whisker Hump Wednesday

We thought we'd show off our buddy, Angel's, whisker humps today.  For the past two weeks, Mom has been going downstairs to his house to feed him at 6am and 4pm to help his mom who is having bad knee pain and can't bend down to put down his food or scoop his litter box.  He knows when Mom goes down and is always waiting by the door for her.  Please keep his mom in your purrs as she uses a walker to get around and has been using her motorized scooter to get to work.

Trouble on Tuesday

Mom heard all kinds of racket going on one day.  She got up to see which one of us was the culprit.  This is what she found.  The shopping bag full of our Christmas presents was broke and the toys spread all over the floor.  And who do you think was the culprit?

BATH TIME!

This is now my new favorite place to hang out. I spent a lot of time here with Mom Sunday while we were nursing her cold (remember, flashback). She even covers me up with the blankie so I stay nice and snuggly warm.

Shadows on Thursday

 This Groundhog Day Minchie saw his shadow.

As did Punxsutawney Phil.

 6 more weeks of winter.  We're still waiting for winter to arrive here in Chicago!  A year ago today was our blizzard.
