Easy Like Sunday Morning

This is where I'm going to be spending a lot of the week.  Mom is staying at her sister's to house/dog/cat sit this week but she will be coming home during the day to take care of Laila and I.  I'm gonna spend lots of time in the laundry basket so I can be near her smells so I don't miss her so much.  When she came home yesterday Laila wouldn't go near her because she had doggie smells all over her!

Enough already! 

One thing I've learned in my short life here on earth is to be cooperative and let mom do what she wants and soon it will be over then I get lots of lovin' and treats for being such a good girl. I know she would never do anything to hurt me either in these little games she plays with me but if it brings a smile or laugh it's all worth it!

Thankful Thursday

I was so excited about a week ago to get a birthday package from my beautiful turkish princess and ladycat, Baby Patches!

She is such a sweetheart to hand pick some of the cool toys she sells in her store!

 

Because we are both Turkish Angoras, our moms call us turkeys sometimes so this turkey toy was very appropriate!  It is now my favorite toy!

 

Thank you so much, my princess, for thinking of me on my birthday!

Video Rerun

Here is our new cousin Sam's video once again.  Hopefully it should work this time.  He is back home with his mommy and daddy who missed him very much while they were away.

The little mancat in action!  He goes back home to his mom (mom's niece who lives in the big scary city) on Tuesday.  Our mom is already having separation anxiety from not being able to visit him.

This is a great place to hide from all the thunder, lightening and rain storms Chicago has been having the past 24 hours!  As Mom is typing this for us, another one is just starting so we has to get off the computer!  Have a great Easy Sunday everyone!

MEET DR. MINDY

Why did mom bring me here today?

I smell all kinds of strange smells on this table!

EEK! Someone just came into the room! I'll run and hide in my PTU (Prisoner Transport Unit) and maybe they'll go away.

Dr. Mindy is a very nice lady! She held me for a while and just gushed on and on about how cute and pretty I was. She's also the second V-E-T to comment on how long I am. I wonder what that means? Maybe I'm going to be a big girl and boxer like my namesake, Laila Ali? I hope so! Right now I'm doing a purrty good job training on Lilly!

I can hear my heart beats and my purrs with this cool vetty toy. I must admit I was also vibrating a lot because I was so scareded!

The appointment went well. Laila weighed in at 5.06 pounds. Dr. M said she appears to be about 4 months old according to her teeth. That's what I figured. Dropped off a stool sample of Lilly's to see if the coccidia was in her poops since Laila had been treated and low and behold she has them too! Boohoohoo! Dr. M said it's very common lately and now that they have a better way of testing the samples, they're seeing it more and more. I have to go back today to get the meds for both of them and will be scooping hourly to keep the boxes fresh. Laila got her rabies shot so today she's not her usual "Energizer Bunny" self!

Thankful Thursday

THANK COD FOR AIR CONDITIONING!!!

Yesterday it got up to 99F (37 Celsius) with heat index of 110F (43 Celsius)!

Laila keeps cool in her litter box sitting on the cool and freshly scooped litter.

 

Minchie keep his private parts cool laying on his back in Mom's lap.

 

Last night Mom was out on the balcony and saw this evil squirrel laying on the brick flat as a pancake.  She has never seen one lay this way.  She felt so sorry for it and wanted to bring it inside to cool off.  The little bugger kept looking up at her and she swears he was trying to convince her to let him come up.

Laila is going to be spending a lot of time in her Costco boxes this week keeping cool with all the hots and humidities that will be outside this week.  Stay cool everyone!

HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY TO MINCHIE!

Do you like my birthday present from Mom?  I love laying on the bathroom rug so Mom bought me a new one!  Now that I'm 7 years old, maybe she'll stop calling me her "little man"!

Thankful Thursday

Meet our new cousin, Sam.  Mom's niece just adopted him.  He is a special needs kitty.  She says he is really cuddly and friendly and his left hind leg had to be amputated a few weeks ago due to an infection so he hops around in the most wonderful way.

 

From the rescue's facebook: "this litter & their mama we trapped from under a deck. Sam, the runt, was born without part of his leg, which become infected due to the dangerous area they were nesting in. After being seen by several vets, it was decided that his best prognosis, due to the infection spreading, was a full amputation. We treated him with various meds until he was big enough for surgery and now he's recovering nicely!"

 

So, kudos to cousin Kelly for adopting this beautiful little kitten and giving him a great home!

Thankful Thursday

This is the chair Mom sits on when she is on the computer.  Minchie loves to jump up and lay on it when she walks away.  When Mom comes back, rather than chase him off the chair, she just moves it over and grabs another one.  We are very spoiled.

This is Sue, the foster mom who fostered both of us in her house before Mom came and adopted us.  She is the sweetest lady! 


We think it's so cool that Mom got us both on July 6th, Laila in 2007 and Minchie in 2008!  It wasn't planned that way, it just happened.  So July 6th is all of our lucky day!

And that was Laila's little toesie sticking out from under the couch yesterday.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

After the awful heat and humidity of yesterday (heat index well above 100!) we are taking it easy today and rehydrating ourselves at the bathroom sink.  Poor Mom went to a barbeque yesterday and sat outside in the awful stuff and smelled pretty stinky when she got home.  Thank cod she jumped right in the shower!  Mom is laying low today too.
