Thankful Thursday

Our good friends,  Cat Chat with Karen and Cody, had a give-away for this most awesome book and we were one of two winners!  We can't wait to have Mom read it to us.

Wonder why we have that bag of all those cat rubber duckies that we showed you yesterday?  We donate them to the auctions for Petz in Need that is run by Mom Marg. They are quite popular and start great bidding wars to help our fellow blogging friends.

Photo Hunt - Wet

Today's theme is WET. 

 

This little wet kitten was Peggy Sue smiling for the camera after her flea bath.  Here is her story:

(October 2011) This is the little 8 week old kitten I rescued with the help of our maintenance man and a neighbor. She was loose in the underground parking garage of my condo building and ended up inside the engine of a huge SUV. I was getting her all set up in a huge box in the bedroom until I could get ahold of Laila and Minchie's former foster mom, Sue, who runs the cat section of The Buddy Foundation.  She said they'd take her! I got to help give her a bath and got to towel dry her. I named her Peggy Sue. Peggy for me and Sue for Laila and Minchie's foster mom who did the intake on her. She has to stay in an isolation room until she's checked out by the vet next week.  Then I can go back and visit her when she's put in with the general population of kittens and will get more pictures then.  Oh, and she only weighs one pound!

Morning Routine

The very first thing Mom does when I get her up every morning is turn the faucet on for us.

Laila jumps in first.

 

Then I push her out of the way for my turn.

 

Here, sister dear, let me lick up that water that fell on your ear.

 

Laila is looking to see if Mom is looking so she can give me a bop on my head for her turn.

 

Just as she raises that paw for the punch...

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Minchie has found himself a very fine sun puddle.

Now that Mom's time won't be taken up anymore taking care of our cousins Sushimi and Lady three times a day, we will be able to get back to visiting our friends more regularly once again.  And we won't have to share her!

It's some of the fur from our cousin, Sushimi.  Mom has been taking care of her and cousin Lady for a week now while their Mom and Dad are away.

Thankful Thursday

Laila is very thankful for her "cat hair magnet".  She can just go up to it any time, day or night, and get a good head scritching from it when Mom is too busy (the nerve!) or not around.

Minchie is very thankful for all the birthday wishes yesterday!  Thank you to everyone who stopped by!

Today is Minchie's 10th birthday!!! It is also his former Daddy's birthday, so we wish him a Happy Birthday too!

Here I am with my best buddy, Angel, who lived with us for a year.  He was suppose to come stay with us this week while his Mom went on a business trip, but she had to cancel the trip.  I am so disappointed we won't get to hang out together this week.  :(

Guessing Game

Our friend, Charlie Rascal, had a guessing game for which song his Mom thought would be purrfect for one of his pictures.  Well, we guessed correctly and won some very nice gifts.

This package came all the way from Sweden!  Minchie is so ready to start pulling out the contents.

 

Jackpot!  Everything we love, especially Minchie's favorite tiny furry rattly mousies.  Mom especially loves the picture of Charlie Rascal.

 

This white furry tail caught Minchie's attention right away.

 

Minchie smells a very handsome manly mancat.

 

It's hard to see but Laila eventually laid claim to it as hers.

Thank you, Charlie Rascal!  We can't wait to try those treats!

Minchie at the Vet

This is me singing the sad song of my people while waiting for Dr. B.  (Please excuse how shaky this video is.  Think Mom had too much coffee yesterday morning.)

 Oh, Mom, please can I get back in my PTU?

 This bench sure isn't as comfy as our couch is at home.

Dr. B wanted to see me walk to check my leg so she opened up the PTU and I did my walk for her.  She was very pleased at how well I'm walking.    Everything looks fine and just to continue with the DVM feline joint gel every day.

This is Emperor, the boss of the whole place and counts all the green papers to make sure it is correct.

Mancat Monday

My PTU has been out since my v-e-t visit three weeks ago for my torn ACL.  I love to sleep in it so Mom says we can leave it out all the time if I want.

 

So, today I go back to see Dr. B for a recheck on my ACL.  I'm sure I'll have a good report because I'm not limping at all.  Wish me luck!

 

Like a lot of other friends of ours, our Mom is suffering from poor memory/poor secretarial skills.  Yesterday she totally forgot our Gotcha Day!  If it had not been for the Cat Blogosphere, it would have passed us by.

Happy Gotcha Day to Us!

This is Sue, the foster mom (holding baby Laila) who fostered both of us in her house before Mom came and adopted us.  She is the sweetest lady! 

This is the first picture taken of Laila at our house as a 10 week old little kitten. She came to live here on July 6, 2007. She was such a tiny girl!

This is one of the first pictures of Minchie taken on July 6, 2008 on his first day here. Laila is under the couch hiding from him. They both got along very quickly.

It's so strange how we both came to live here on the exact same date a year apart.
