Where Did All the Maries Go?

Remember all the Marie stuffed animals we talked about HERE?

Well this is what Mom's bedroom looks like now.  Out of all the dozens and dozens of Maries, she kept four.  She misses them very much but knowing the little girls in Guatemala will enjoy and love them so much, that makes her very happy.

This is our cousin, Henry, Mom's niece's kitty.  This was on her Facebook page:

"Made avocado maki rolls. Henry just came running into the living room with a piece in his mouth and deposited it into my shoe."

We think he was unhappy there was no tuna, shrimp or salmon rolled up inside instead.

Friday Flashback

Today's flashback is from October 2009 and was a

FRIENDS FRIDAY 

We finally know what our new friend, Kiddy, looks like! Isn't she absolutely gorgeous? Her Mom said she is a mute calico and is 8 years old. She was recently adopted by her Mom (our Mom's new friend too) and is adjusting very well to her new forever home. We think it is just so awesome that Marlene adopted an older kitty from the shelter. It's pretty tough for the older ones in the middle of kitten season. They don't have a blog and for now don't think they will start one, but you never know. Since they only live about 25 miles from us, one day Mom wants to drive out and meet them in person.

Mom Marlene is coming to see us today after she and Mom have lunch!

Black Cat Appreciation Day

Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day.

Our sister who came before us, Angel Binky Baby.  She has been gone for eight years now.  What a beauty she was!

Here are our cousins, Sam (the three-legged bundle of energy on top) and Henry, who live with Mom's niece in Chicago.  

This is cousin Angel Bonnie who use to live with Mom's niece who now lives in Florida.

We wish more people would adopt the gorgeous and sweet black beauties out there looking for their forever homes.  Our family loves them and highly recommends adopting one...or two.

Friends on Friday

Anyone who knows us knows how obsessed Mom is over Marie from the Disney movie "The Aristocats".

Just a "few" of her stuffed animal collection.

They all had to be bagged up when our bedroom wall was torn up looking for the leaking pipe.  

Well, Mom decided that she needed to declutter the bedroom.  So, what to do with all these stuffed animals?

One of Mom's friends works with a lady from Guatemala and the lady and her husband formed a small organization (http://linkzforkidz.org/index.html) who, since 1999, have worked on various projects to alleviate some of the needs of poor people living in rural communities in different small towns of Guatemala, whose needs range from potable water and electricity to food and clothes.  So, all of these darling stuffed animals will eventually end up going down there to be loved and enjoyed by the little girls down there.  It was extremely hard for Mom to part with these, but knowing where they are going is such a joy for us.

Thankful Thursday

Minchie wants to thank his Turkish Princess, Baby Patches, for the great birthday presents and card she sent a few weeks back.

This great catnip carrot caught his attention right away.

Watch out, Laila has her eyes on that carrot.

Sorry, Minchie, Laila stole it right in front of your eyes.

Not to worry, Minchie got it back.

We know you have met our furry cousins, Sam (on top) and Henry (bottom) before.  This is the latest picture of them.  These two brothers are so beautiful and love each other so much.  Sam is a tripod kitty but you'd never know it.
