Mom is "off the clock" cat/dog/house sitting for our furry cousins.  Today we are spending the day chillaxin' with her.  Mom may not even get out of her jammies!

These dirty clothes have woofie stink on them!  Must get my stink back on them.

When we saw what the theme for today was, we immediately remembered this picture.  When Angel was living with us that year, Mom let him out on the balcony and he immediately went over to a planter and started nomming the flowers.  MOL!

We are thankful that the hots have taken a break so that Mom can open the curtains so Minchie can take some snoozes in the sun.

 Well, what have we here?  Mom brought us this tiny little baby tomato from our cousin's garden.  Besides taking care of Lady and Sushimi while their Mom and Dad are away, she is taking care of the flowers and garden.

We love to help Mom sort and do laundry. We will be very busy today helping her do 4 loads! There better be lots of Temptations and stinky goodness in this for us!

Trying to Stay Cool

 To help stay cool during this nasty heat and humidity we are having, when the air conditioning kicks on, Laila runs to a spot where she can feel the nice cool air and lets it blow on her tummy furs.

Mom is between cat/dog/house sitting jobs today, so she is spending the whole day with us.  Tomorrow she starts taking care of our cousins, Sushimi and Lady for 9 days.

For a few days this week, Mom has been feeding one of our neighbor's cat for her while she went out of town.  This is Misha.  Remember her?

When Mom comes in, Misha does a lot of figure eights around her legs she is so happy to see her.

 

Misha absolutely loves to play with the laser mouse of ours.

She's very good at it.

Today is Minchie's 9th birthday!!! It is also his former Daddy's birthday, so we wish him a Happy Birthday too!

Our sister, Angel Cerise,  loved to attract attention to herself.  She was quite the trend setter in stylish feline fashion.

Why, it's a cute mousie wand toy that Mom got at a recent cat show. It really jumps around a lot and it's so much fun to play with. Thank you, Mom!

Thursday in the Garden

We don't think we have ever done a Thursday in the Garden post before because Mom has such a black thumb.  This is the extent of our garden this year.  She is very happy the petunias are still alive.  

The flowers in the kitty stand are fake and left over from left year's fake flowers.  It was such a record breaking summer of heat last year that she put a few fakes out there for color.

What is great about hanging around my cat hair magnet is that whenever I get an itch, relief is just a headbutt away.

Cabin Fever

To help with the cabin fever of having the air conditioning on, Minchie loves to put the bitey on his silvervine pillow.  And he knows better than to touch Laila's orange turkey feather!

Farewell Church Cat Tom

Yesterday we lost a wonderful friend of ours, Church Cat Tom.  He ran away to the Bridge while in his mom's arms.  Our Jim Shore angel holding a cat means more to us now than ever.

In August of 2010 we did a post featuring him.  It was titled

We would like to introduce you to a new friend of ours, Father Tom who blogs over at Temptation of Christ Parish. He had his first ever contest and we won!

And this is what we won! A beautiful Jim Shore angel holding a cat, who looks just like our good buddy Angel!

We are keeping it here in this place of honor. Mom is just crazy over this little statue and wanted it out where she could see it no matter where she sat in the living room.

Thank you so much, Father Tom, for this gorgeous prize! We will cherish it forever and each time we see it we will think of you. Everyone, please be sure to check out Father Tom's website. He's a very handsome Maine Coon mancat who lives in Maine.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Mom went to Costco yesterday shopping for a new box for me as I was bored with the old one.  This one is a winner!  I'll be spending my Easy Sunday right here today.

Happy Gotcha Day to Us!

This is the first picture taken of Laila as a 10 week old little kitten. She came to live here on July 6, 2007. She was such a tiny girl!

This is one of the first pictures of Minchie taken on July 6, 2008 on his first day here. Laila is under the couch hiding from him. They both got along very quickly.

It's so strange how we both came to live here on the exact same date a year apart.

Here I am posing with my plumeria flower from Hawaii.  I really didn't mind at all having it in my furs.  I did feel quite like the island girl with it on.
