I am thankful Mom was able to finally tame me. I was a very skittish feral kitten when she first adopted me. My foster mom wanted to keep me longer to socialize me more but since we have such a quiet house and Mom has lots of experience with kitties, she let me go early. She came "that close" to giving me back, but then we had a talk and I finally smarted up. When people come over (except Angel's mom) I run for the hills. Just ask Chey's mommy, she knows first hand.
We're thankful you listened to your Mom and got to stay with her. Sometimes Moms DO know what's best for ous.

Sometimes "the talk" is what is needed. I'm so glad you listened.
ReplyDeleteLola runs for the hills when we have visitors as well.
ReplyDeleteShe is still very skittish, but then that's our Lola.
Mom just had "the talk" with Whitey. He was a little bit naught in my Nana's bathtub. Oh, wait. This is not tattletale Tuesday, is it?
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful to your mom too! We wouldn't have never met!

What a beautiful shot of you!
ReplyDeleteLaila, could your mom come over to our house and have the "talk" with Zoey...after almost 2 years, she still doesn't get it that she's safe and no one is gonna hurt her...our mom and dad have both talked to her, but she doesn't listen....
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to be nervous with visitors...my Sister Zoe hides too. Ya done good though!
ReplyDeleteSome kities are just scaredy cats. We've got two, Angus and BJ. Even today BJ, at 11 years old, still dashes under the couch if a human sneezes too loud (or startles him - never mind if someone visits). He comes right back out though knowing he was just caught up in his instincts. And he was never feral. I'm glad you're coming around though...

All in due time, Sweetie! Scooter(RIP) and Skeeter used to HATE people. But over time, they warmed up a little bit. And, if there was food involved, Scooter was right there! She wasn't Captain of Team Grub for nuthin'. BTW...we have an award for you all today!

HE HE HE... I ran from the Woman at first too. Of course Laila you were very brave jumping right over her!
ReplyDeleteWe're thankful that you were tamed, too. You're living a longer, happier life!
ReplyDeleteWe're glad that your Mom loved you enough and that you were able to "smart up". Isn't snuggling with Mom the best?

My Lilly Ann, profile photo, hissed at everyone but me. I was her only 'person'.. she got used to living in a house. She had a great life. I'm glad you have a home.
ReplyDeleteWe are thankful too that you listened to your mum when she had a talk with you, and you got tamed. I run for cover too if we have visitors.

So glad that you listned to your mum , now you got love galore.. Hugs Gj xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing your Mom was able to tame you.
ReplyDeleteLaila we are glad that your mom had the talk and that you listened! And we are totally understanding of heading for the hills when people visit - we usually sit in the stairway to determine if people are ok or not!
ReplyDeleteI am happy you settled down to be a good inside kittie like me.
ReplyDeleteGlad you came to your senses and listened to your mom, Laila. I would miss you if you weren't here.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad about hiding from strangers, Laila. George is the only one of us 4 that will come out around a stranger. The rest of us hide.
