Today's flashback is from September 2008 and was titled
LOONY LAILA
Minchie here. I try and try so hard to clean Laila's head but she just
thinks it's playtime. Then it turns into a free for all and we play
thundering herd of elephants until we're exhausted. Mom wonders what the
neighbor downstairs must think.
Last Friday Mom drove Angel's mom to the hospital for cataract surgery. Because she could not be alone that night, she spent the night with us! Slumber party!
I have never laid on anyone's lap other than Mom's before so she was
quite shocked to see this. I knew Auntie Dee needed a devoted nurse so I was more than happy to oblige as long as she was on my recliner and I was on one of my summer blankies. She did great and is now back in her condo downstairs.
This is Sue, the foster mom (holding
baby Laila) who fostered both of us in her house before Mom came and
adopted us. She is the sweetest lady!
The
first picture taken of Laila at our house as a 10 week old little
kitten. She came to live here on July 6, 2007. She was such a tiny
girl!
One
of the first pictures of Minchie taken on July 6, 2008 on his first
day here. Laila is under the couch hiding from him. They both got
along very quickly. It's so strange how we both came to live here on the exact same date a year apart.
Jackie, the mum of Eric and Flynn,
said that on her first Memories post that she and Ivor wanted to do
something in memory of Eric and Flynn.
She made a list of everyone who commented when Flynn had to leave and
also on his tribute post. She would make a donation of either £60, €65
or $75 to the shelter of the winner's choice and will also send a
small gift of some of Flynn's loved and gently used toys.
Well,
we were the winners! We asked that the donation be given to her
favorite shelter. Saturday we received a mat of Flynn's and a few of
his toys. We will treasure these always! Mom says she can feel Flynn's
presence so much having these wonderful gifts. Thank you so much
Jackie!
