Standing room only

What is this crazy little sister of mine thinking? She scaled the tree faster than mom could blink her eyes.

What we older mancat brothers have to put up with!

Laila finally realized we both can't fit up here. This is where I come for some peace and quiet.

Rainy Day Saturday

We heard that between 6:30pm and 8:45pm last night we got like 3.5 inches of rain! Mom said she never saw it rain that hard for so long. And it's still raining! Our flowers got drownded!

So, Laila and I are just gonna hang on the cat tree today. We have to rest up because our auntie is coming over later after she picks mom up and they have one of their "seester days". Woohoo!

Keeping cool in Chi Town

My sister, Laila, is alway hogging the cool bathroom sink. But mom insists I'm too big to fit in it.

We luvs you mom!

Thankful Thursday

And let there be a goodly share
on every food tray everywhere.

Mom is finding out more and more about me from emailing back and forth with my dad. Here is the latest scoop:

"When I decided on giving up Minchie due to work, I started asking friends and around if i can find someone I can trust to give Minchie. I also contacted PAWS Chicago. My brother offered to take him but Minchie was having a hard time with a dog in the house. I had few other prospects before I considered the shelter option but none of them went through. PAWS did not respond to me for weeks. I had to move out from my apartment and had a temporary living arrangement before I leave the country and could not take Minchie with me. This is the time he stayed with my brother. I had to find a no-kill shelter where also they screen people thoroughly who wants to adopt. I had to make sure he would go to someone who knows about cats and cherish them. Since I did not hear from PAWS, I have searched for other no kill shelters. I came across Second Chance Shelter. I wrote them a lengthy email, explaining my situation. I got a response back in few days from a very nice lady and she asked me to provide more information about Minchie and she will send it to Pure Bred Rescue places and other no kill shelters. We emailed each other back and forth and one morning I got a call from Mary from Buddy Foundation. She said that they have just finished building a no kill shelter and might be able to take Mr. Minchie. That is the story. I think he never made it to the shelter.I am planning to stop by at Buddy Foundation shelter and get some of the stuff on their wish list for the new shelter before I leave end of this month. Today is my birthday. Since I did not know when Minchie's birthday was I thought my birthday can be his birthday too. So he might ask you for a birthday belly rub tonight. :)"

Mom was just going to have my adoption day, July 6, be my birthday, but I want to keep it the same day as my dad's! Mom thinks this is so cool and of course agreed right away! So, yesterday was my birthday and she is saying I am 4 years young. Every day is special here so it's hard to beat them with a special birthday day! I luvs it here!!!

And my dad will always be my dad no matter how far apart we are. I know I have a special place in his heart for just me and it will be there until forever. But now I have a new forever great home and a great mom and sister who I luvs just as much as my dad! I am one, very thankful mancat!

Minchie's favorite game

This game is called "mousies falling from the bedroom ceiling". Mom's camera takes awful videos so we apologise for how bad it is but you can get the idea. Laila just likes to lay on the floor and be entertained.

Tummy Tuesday

Mom is so happy both of us loves to have our tummies rubbed, petted, combed and kissed.

Mancat tummy.

Girlcat tummy.

Through the vastness of the internets and it being such a small world, my former cat slave has found us! Mom has been emailing with him getting the scoop on me. I miss him very much but sometimes a kitty just can't go when a big move is involved. I will miss him very much but just want him to know I have a very excellent home again and that he can keep up with me and my new life here on our blog. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of me dad! Please drop in whenever you like and comment, okay? You will never be forgotten.

Easy like Sunday morning

Mom says I'm the biggest kitty who ever laid on the couch. I can see why she is such a fan of Lazy Boy furniture!

Mom also thinks Laila and I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. After I ate my stinky goodness we started jockeying for the alpha kitty spot (I guess) and were boxing and chasing each other at lightening speeds. Mom kept following us to make sure no one got hurted. Then Laila went under the couch for a little bit but then came back out and it's like nothing happened.

A very special thanks to Ann at Zoolatry for designing these two furry cool graphic of me in all my studly mancatness. I will treasure these forever! Thank you so much for doing this for us!!!

Me and my blog

Here I am getting caught up reading our blog from before I came.

Mom set up the tunnel last night and Laila has been teaching me how to play with it. It's so much fun!!! We zoom through it chasing each other and hide from each other in it. It's hard for mom to get a picture because we are just too fast for the flashy box.

We think we found someone on the internets who knew my previous owner who had to give me up. He became good friends with Minchie's owner over the internet, and the owner spoke often and lovingly about Minchie. It broke his heart giving him up. The friend said it is heart warming to see that Minchie has found a new and loving home. We hope this friend will become a regular visitor to our blog and maybe can tell my previous owner about it. Small world!!!

Cabinet climbing

My brofur has gone somewhere I never have! He is so brave to scale up to the top of the kitchen cabinets! I've never even been on the counters. Mom has never kept anything up there because my sisters that "came before me" all use to go up there all the time. Maybe Minchie can teach me first how to get up to the counter. Baby steps...
We are getting along much better every day. I'm the one instigating the playing but am met with some hisses once in a while still. Mom is going to leave us out together all day while she is at her work. She feels very confident we'll be fine.
