Now for the complicated story about Angel, the very short version. He came to stay with us on February 18. It was only going to be for a few weeks while his carpet was ripped up and wood floors put in. Then his Mom kept having more and more work done. A very good friend of hers was doing the work, who was out of a job. He has turned out to not be reliable at all and has left her in a huge mess and still has some projects not finished. Their place is filthy from all the work and everything is all over the place. He and his wife are suppose to come and put everything back, clean and help Angel's Mom (who is a person with a disability) get rid of a lot of junk and keeps giving her the runaround.
Angel can't (and Mom won't LET him) go back because he has allergies and some asthma and it's not good for him. That's why the carpet was being replaced in the first place. We all want him to stay forever but can't do that to his Mom. She needs her boy back in her life as he's her baby. We just can't seem to get her to stop being walked all over by this "friend". Mom has given up trying to get this resolved. We LOVE having him here and he can spend the rest of his life here as far as we are concerned.
We are all very happy that Laila's vet visit the other day went very well. Her gums look great and the four holes where her toofies were stolen healed nicely. Thank you for all of your well wishes. And, yes, we still have Angel. It's complicated...
This cute little floofy white tummy is going to the V-E-T today in the P-T-U to have her gums and wholes where her four toofies use to be checked. Mom says her gums are looking great. Will see what Dr. Mindy says. Wish us luck!
I am thankful Mom leaves this one shelf in the closet just for us to snuggle into. Notice how emerald green my eyes look. The flash does crazy things with my eye color sometimes.
It only makes sense you can only see half of my whiskers and only with the gray furs in the background. You see, I am a half gray and half white kitty. All the grays are on the top of me and white ones on the bottom of me. Makes Mom wonder what my ma and pa looked like.
Mom can't figure out why I like to hang out in this cozy little corner with the P-T-U being so close. Maybe she figures she'd never find me anywhere near it so it must be a good place to hide from her. She says I have to go see Dr. Mindy this week to have my gums checked and the holes looked at where they stoled my toofies.
For many years Mom fed and provided shelter to the feral cats that hung around her office building.
This little trio of kittens were rescued by Mom and her boss in 2003 in the back lot of the office. The little gray one is now our cousin, Gizmo, who lives with Mom's sister.
Gizmo prefers Christmas trees now to outside trees.
These are just a few of the many ferals that hung around or visited over the years. The building was sold this summer so the ferals have gone elsewhere. Mom drives down that street often and still looks for her buddies but has never seen one. One of the businesses across the street has quite an elaborate setup for ferals so she donated her leftover food and supplies to them. She really misses them.
Laila is thankful for all the free boxes at Costco. So far this is her favorite one. Every time Mom goes there she looks for this particular one and brings it home. Yesterday she found another one and now Laila has two. You'd think a lot of homeless kitties live here with all the boxes laying around.
Minchie was the only one willing to be the one to pick the winner and as an incentive, Mom had to hide treats in the bottom of the bowl to get him interested. Leave it to a Mancat!
We want to thank everyone once again for your generous outpouring of help in this difficult time for our Mom and her not having a day hunting jobbie to go to. All but $45.00 was raised and that is so much easier for us to handle. We treasure each and every one of our wonderful friends we've met on the CB! What a great group that comes the the aid of those in need. In the past we have helped many and just hope one day soon we will again be able to.
We are so worried and have been purraying so hard for our fellow mancat Mr. Tigger and his sister Samantha who got out Saturday night and are still missing. Please, please, please go home right now! Your fambly is missing you so much and so worried.
This coming Sunday we are having our drawing for the cool items for those who donated to Laila's dental surgery bills. We are very excited because in the 2 1/2 years we have been blogging, this is the first time we've ever done something like this. Thank you to all who have come to Laila's rescue! She is blown away by all the outpouring of help and support of green papers. Her mouth is looking so much better and is being such a good girl each day when Mom puts the oral hygiene rinse on her gums.
