To show our appreciation to those who have contributed to the Laila vet bill fund, we thought it would be fun if we put all the names in a bowl and picked one. The winner will get these two items specially hand picked by us in the box Mom keeps under the bed for future gift givings. Both are brand new and never used. Oh, and we will make sure some kitty treats get snuck in the box too.

We will have the drawing on Sunday, October 11 and the winner will be posted Monday, October 12.

Easy like Sunday morning

This is where I'll be catching some snoozin' time this lazy Sunday. Laila has been such a blog-hog this week with her toofie drama I insisted Mom put just me on the post today.

We are so overwhelmed by the response to help out with Laila's vet bill! Thanks to all who have so generously helped out! It warms our heart to know what wonderful friends we have out there in the blogging world.

Saturday Surprise!

Laila couldn't believe her eyes when Mom showed her the V-E-T bills for her dental surgery, tooth cleaning and pre-op blood work. $575.00! Since Mom lost her day hunting jobbie the end of July with no new prospects in sight, she has put a PayPal button on the top of our side bar on the right for anyone who might like to donate to the fund for my bill. We know first hand in this economy nowadays how hard it is for a lot of people, but if you would like to help out that would be great, no matter how small. Any green papers donated in excess of the bill will be sent to the Cat Blogosphere for another kitty in need of help. And no problem at all if you can't. We are just so thankful for everyone's support and words of encouragement while I had the surgery and during my recovery.

I am doing great and my gums look great too. We are hoping and purraying that the home preventative care I'll be receiving daily helps in the future.

Formerly Feral Friday

After a good brushing Laila and Angel are very relaxed.

We also want to say a very special "HI!" to our new furrend, Kiddy, who is a recently adopted 8 year old from a shelter. We think it's so nice that her Mom adopted an older kitty. It's so hard for the older ones to get adopted in the middle of kitten season. So, Kudos to Mom Marlene!!!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful Mom took me to the V-E-T Tuesday to get rid of those yucky ol' toofies so that my mouth can be better. She has also weaned me off the pain drugs as yesterday for most of the day I didn't leave the litter boxes. Sometimes I would just sit there in the dark staring into them. It was spooking her a little bit.

Woofie Wednesday

Meet Rickie, Mom's former boss's woofie. Mom went to visit them last week. Rickie is a Jack Russell Terrier and so darned cute! Mom has dog/house sit for her many times over the years. Rickie turned 14 in April.

She was the woofie that was such good friends with our sister, Cerise, but we would be scairt to meet her.

Toofless Tuesday

Boy, it sure is good to be back home! They stole two premolars, one molar and a lower incisor! But it will make my mouth feel much betters! Thanks Dr. Jen and everyone for taking such good care of me! They say I may have stomatitis gingivitis. They don't really know what causes it so they will be keeping an eye on the situation.

As soon as I got home Mom fixed me a little stinky goodness and I gobbled it up right away plus some hard foods which I just swallowed whole. I am on auntie-biotiks for a week, have some awesome pain meds that Mom squirts on my gums twice a day and the oral rinse that I will do my whole life. Mom can't believe how well I bounced back from the surgery. I was acting pretty normal all night, even had a rasselling match with Minchie, which I won, naturally!

Thank you to everyone for all their purrayers and support! We don't know what we would do without all of you and your friendships! You are the bestest!

Laila surgery update

The vet just called. Laila is out of surgery and doing fine so Mom can pick her up anytime after 3pm. She had 4 rotten teeth pulled! Holy Moly! We needs to find out what to do to help her teeth in the future. We can't wait until she's home because Mom is just moping around missing her little girl. Really, we are too!

Mancat Monday

Us dudes are gonna be hanging by ourselves today as Laila goes in this morning for her dental surgery. At least we'll be getting a break from getting beat up by her all day long. hahaha! Good luck little sis!

Wordy Wednesday

Well, it was a real battle between me and Mom yesterday getting me into the carrier but Mom's will won and off we went to the V-E-T. Well, some of the bottom teeth on the bottom in front are missing, one is sticking up and needs to be pulled and another one on the side needs to be pulled. The doctor was concerned that I was too young to have such issues and thought possibly I could be FIV+. Even though I tested negative at 6 weeks, it could have been a false negative. Well, Mom's heart sank as she had a kitty with FIV and knows all about it. They ran an in house blood test and good news...it was negative! Mom was so relieved!!! I'm on aunty-biotiks and will be having my teeth cleaned and a few pulled on this coming Monday. Mom is very nervous about this not having a job and all and how she's gonna come up with the green papers to pay for this, but she said no matter what it cost, she would get my mouth back in good shape.

Tummy and toesies Tuesday

Mom says I have to go see the V-E-T today to have my bottom right canine and the tooth to the left looked at as the gum is looking purty nasty. Hopefully it will be that I just need those aunty-biotiks to make it betters. She thinks she can bribe me with real Kitty Kaviar (my favorite!) to get me in the PTU. Hahaha! We'll see who has the last laugh on this one!

Also, Mom was suppose to leave early this morning for a three day trip to Iowa but it got cancelled at the last minute so she won't be abandoning us. Yay! Angel's Mommie was gonna come live with us and is very disappointed she can't now.

Easy like Sunday morning

We are plum tuckered out from our overnight company Friday night! We had so much fun but the beans stayed up until 2:00am and had to be up early. Mom was wide awake and only got 2 hours of sleep! When she got home at 4:30pm yesterday she fell asleep in the recliner for 3 hours, woke up and had something to eat, then slept another 10 hours. Now she knows what a cat's life is like!

Finally Friday

We are having two of Mom's friends stay the weekend with us because they are all going to a big scrapbooking event they call Croptoberfest. She has the car loaded with all her "cropping crap". She'll be lucky if she gets one page done because she spends way too much time socializing at these events. Poor Laila doesn't do well with company so she will be running from under the bed to under the couch when they are actually here.

Thankful Thursday

Angel is thankful that one of his Mom's friends gave her these steps to make it easier for him to get up on the bed. Now that he has learned how to go up and down them, he sleeps with Mom every night. Laila gets very jealous at times. I (Minchie) am more than able bodied to jump up on my own, but love going up and down them too. If and when Angel ever goes home (Mom doesn't want him to!) I am hoping she'll buy some stairs for me.

Mancat Monday

Angel seems to like this spot in the kitchen when Mom is in there. Rather than disturb him, she just steps around and over him while she's working in there.

We won't be around much the next few days as Mom's sister had a mass removed from her foot yesterday and Mom is staying with her most of the day for a few days. She said she's not even making the bed for us so we can be bed hogs all day. Yippee!!!
