Tooth For the Tooth Fairy

Minchie is resting after his dental yesterday.  He did very well and one molar was extracted (he's on pain meds for that) besides his cleaning and fluoride treatment.  They didn't put him under until 3:00 pm so when Mom picked him up at 5:30 he was still very loopy.  She kept him in the bedroom all night.  Needless to say, she didn't get much sleep because he was all over her.

Mom is stressing over the cost of all of this.  Between the blood work, x-ray, ultrasound to be sure no enlarged heart (that showed up on x-ray), cleaning and extraction and lots of miscellaneous charges, his bill came to $1,050.00!  But it was worth every penny for her little mancat.  Plus her car was in the shop twice for major repairs.  When it rains it pours!

  1. Hugs and healing purrs! One tooth isn't bad at all, actually that's pretty good. We hope he's back to 100% soon.

As for the stress of vet (and other) bills, we don't know anything about that, but our biped sure does. :-/ Try to take a breath and know it'll all work out okay in the end.

  2. Oh Minchie we are so glad it all went well for you and only one tooth had to come out. Maybe, the Mom should put up a PayPal button so we could all help out. Minchie is one of our favorite cats on the blogosphere.

  4. ARGH, that's a lot of money! We hope he recovers quickly. Let's hope this was the last big expense you'll have for a long time!

  5. I'm so glad Minchie is home and recovering! At least only one tooth needed extracted, and I'm sure he'll feel much better with it gone.

Vet bills sure can be a bit worrisome, but, as you mentioned, it's always worth it for our furbabies. And, as Fuzzy Tales said, it will all work out in the end. Of course, Marg's suggestion of putting a PayPal button on your page isn't bad either! Purrs!

  10. Honey, I am so sorry. And for your mommy too. That is a lot of money. Mom does;t know what she will be charged. She is still able to take advantage of Dental Month as the appointment was made in late February. But I have to have an EKG and the less complete blood panel. A pre surgery one. Best to you and me sweet Minchie.

  11. We are so glad that Minchie is doing ok. We adore him so much.

The lady understands about vet bills. This is a lot and then car repairs to boot. Vet expenses are just so much nowadays.

  12. I'm glad Minchie came through the dental and is healing! My human knows what your human's going through - her car just had some alternator problems, plus Binga's ultrasound, and all that added up!

  16. I read Marg's comment and yes you should put a paypal button there, also, do you have Care Credit? I have it and mostly use it for Veterinary stuff......plus....if you have pet insurance you would be reimbursed for some of that. If you get Care Credit it is like a charge and you just make monthly payments. Glad Minchie is doing better though! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
