Photo Hunters - Hands

Today's Photo Hunters theme is hands.

Here are pictures of Mom using her hands to give our sister, Lilly (RIP), her daily sub-q fluids.

Pulling up skin to make the "tent".

Sticking the needle in the base of the "tent" underneath the skin.

Mom adjusting the IV tube.

It's in and Lilly doesn't even know what's going on.

Such a good girl!

  3. She was such a good girl! I used to have to give Toby his Interferon that way and he barely flinched. They're a LOT braver than us!

  6. Your photos brought back so many memories=I gave my Mom's cat, Asia fluids daily for over 5 years and my Nikki fluids for almost 2 years; they both lived quality lives until 20...I had been doing Asia's for about 2 years when Nik's fluids started and I still cried so hard the first time I had to stick her; they were both wonderful and seemed to understand it had to be done...I believe it is a great way to help add fulfilling years to their lives...It is a total act of love and devotion, Peggy...We also gave fluids to my Mom's dog for almost 2 years as well...big hugs...J

  10. That brought back memories for our mom. She used to give sub-qs to Bogart, one of the cats that came before us. She always gave the fluids in the neck area, never on side like your mom is doing. She didn't know you could do fluids like that.
