Laila's vet visit

Here I am stuffed in the dreaded PTU. I was in there before I knew what happened! Mom is really good at that.

Maybe if I just lay here with my furrocious fangs out everyone will leave me alone.

Better yet, I'll just hide in this corner. Surely no one can see me now!

That sneaky Dr. Jen found me! I guess this won't be so bad after all. She is so sweet and nice to me.

Oh oh! I gained a pound in a year! I'm up to 14.7 pounds! Mom has decided to cut way back on the treats and nummies but I will continue on the light dry food Angel was on and that I got use to eating. Mom thinks that extra weight will come off with no problem because since Angel went home, Minchie and I are much more active in our chasing each other. My stomatitis/gingivitis is acting up a bit so I am on oral antibiotics for a week.

  1. Oh poor sweet Madi! You looks EXACTLY like Scooter did when she used to go to the V~E~T. She would dead weight herself and just be a lump. Sorry you had to go there. But you will take that weight off in NO time! We know it!!!

  4. I try to avoid the weight issue. Our vet thinks my fat tummy is so muscley and solid that I'm good! I hope you feel better with the stomatitis soon.

  5. Laila, we're sorry you hadta go to the v-e-t. But it looks like it wasn't too bad. Zoey went to the v-e-t on Monday and she was a holy terror there! Hissing and growling! They hadta take her into the "back room" to give her the shot and steal her bloods. They hadta use a couple of techs to hold her!

  7. So sorry you had to go to the vet, Laila, but glad your ordeal is over!...Everybody gains a little weight in the winter (Mommy Cat and Daddy Cat especially!); we think you look beautiful just the way you are, but it's no big deal to lose a little weight in the summer=too bad about cutting back on those treats though!...We hope your tummy is feeling better soon too...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

  8. That is exactly what Penny and BJ do when they go to the vet. I call that "turning off" They just zone out and pretend nothing is happening. It's better than some of the alternatives.
A pound! Oh my Laila...I'm glad you have a chasing plan.

  11. Oh Laila, you looked so scared! Thank goodness you are OK!!! Diets....oh yes, GRAIN FREE! We are on Wellness grain free because, especially us Boyz.....foods made with grain (corn/wheat/rice, etc) can cause ALKALINE urine in dogs and cats. This causes urinary issues such as struvite crystals such as Tinker developed. Cats also should only have 3% carbs in food....dry food contains over 30% leading to health problems such as diabetes.
Tinker is doing well now even off the so called special prescription foods.
That's what the word "diet" means to us....=^Y^=

  13. Flynn: I do the same as you at the vet. I go all tense and flatten myself as low as I can so they might not see me.
Eric: I like to look around and see if there are any treats lying around. Once I went over and laid down on the computer keyboard and didn't want to move again.
We hope your Auntie's Biotiks help your gingivitis.

  14. Awww poor Laila. I just get the D word from the V.E.T. too.
YOu looks very cute hiding in your bed. Mommy sais is smart of your mommy to bring a bed for you to sits in at the stabby place. Is better than the cold table.
    We tries that next time!
