Wordy Wednesday

Well, it was a real battle between me and Mom yesterday getting me into the carrier but Mom's will won and off we went to the V-E-T. Well, some of the bottom teeth on the bottom in front are missing, one is sticking up and needs to be pulled and another one on the side needs to be pulled. The doctor was concerned that I was too young to have such issues and thought possibly I could be FIV+. Even though I tested negative at 6 weeks, it could have been a false negative. Well, Mom's heart sank as she had a kitty with FIV and knows all about it. They ran an in house blood test and good news...it was negative! Mom was so relieved!!! I'm on aunty-biotiks and will be having my teeth cleaned and a few pulled on this coming Monday. Mom is very nervous about this not having a job and all and how she's gonna come up with the green papers to pay for this, but she said no matter what it cost, she would get my mouth back in good shape.

  1. Hope your teefies are feeling better soon. I don't like the PTU either, but I never bite or scratch, so mum doesn't have too much hassle with me.

    I'll be purring for you.

  2. Concats on your award and thanks for passing it on to us.
Eric: I get teefs trubbles too. Ever since I was 6 months old I get inflamed gums and mum has to put paste on them every day to help the plaque dissolve. She cleans my teeth with an old soft toothbrush head.

  4. We are so relieved your test was negative too!! Our mom says she knows how your mom felt, it's not a good feeling. We hope the teeth get all betters very soon.

Our vet said the same thing about Maya cause his teeth are bad. He tested negative too. So she said it could be the pH level in his mouth.

  17. Glad you got a good test result! And I can totally sympathize with the whole teef thing. I had to have 5 pulled when I first got here. Bad teefs are no fun.

  20. I know about the green papers for 'toofies'. When did all this fuss about cat's teeth start? No-one ever had their cat's teeth cleaned when I was a child and the islanders I visit in the central Pacific think it's the biggest joke to even have a hospital for cats! They only have one small hospital for themselves never mind their cats! I told my vet Bailey would have his teeth cleaned AFTER I had paid to get MY teeth cleaned!
