Winter go away!

I'm going to spend the rest of the winter here under my towel blankie. The weatherman said this morning we've had 52 inches of snow so far making it the 6th snowiest winter on record. Boohoohoo! Since this is my first winter, I hope this is the last with all the bitter cold and all that snow!

Kitty lawnmower

Lilly really getting into her catgrass.

Mom had to use duct tape to tape it down to a plate so it stayed put.

Bigger than a silver dollar

Well, we didn't get as much snow as predicted (about 4-5 inches) and it's still snowing out there. Mom said when she left work yesterday she'd never seen snowflakes so big. They were bigger than silver dollars! And just when we were starting to see the grass again. Good day for a nap!

Snow patrol

GRRRR!!! There is a winter snow advisory AGAIN for late this afternoon/tonight/tomorrow. 6-9 inches of the icky white fluff! Just when we were starting to see the grass again. Oh, well, at least it will cover up all the black snow that is left. Boohoohoo!

R.I.P. sweet Ruthie Buttons

Our very good friend Liz had a terrible loss this past week. In her words: "There was a scuffle and rucus on the porch the other nite, it was Ruthie and a raccoon. She got pretty torn up and took a turn for the worst yesterday morning, we put her down so she wouldn't suffer anymore. " Please keep Liz and her family in your prayers as they mourn the loss of this precious girl.

Trapped in the PTU!

Lilly isn't too happy she had to go the the vetty bean last Saturday to have her bloods taken to check her bun and creatnine levels.

Don't worry, Lilly, you will be back in no time.

Better thee than me! hehehe!

Lilly's levels were fine and she's doing good for an old gal of 16 1/2. Then yesterday Mom gets a card in the mail that she is due for her annual checkup and shots next month. She was a little upset the vetty bean didn't see in her chart that her shots were coming up and now she has to make another trip.

Waiting patiently

Mom, when are we going to be able to open up the windows again? I really, really, really need to breathe some fresh air. It was nice having the door in the living room open for a little on Sunday when the temps got up into the 40's, but now they are locked up tight again. Boohoohoo! I'm getting cat-bin fever!

Bug patrol

Mom said my job here is bug patrol. I am in training right now. Mom said we don't get that many bugs but I could swear I saw something go running into that corner.

A very rare sight!

Lilly and me very close and not boxing each other.
Mom has never taken me to the office for a visit since I'm such a scaredy cat. Lilly went once but she is called "carsick kitty" so the only time she gets out is to go in the PTU to the vetty bean. Our sister, Cerise, use to go all the time. I thinks I would rather just stay home and not go and be scairt to death with all those strangers.

Maddie visits the office

One of the guys Mom works with brought his daughter's dog in to work Friday for the day. Meet Maddie. She's a YorkiePoo. She's pretty tiny and smaller that Lilly Mom thinks. We hope she stays at work and doesn't come to our house to visit as we would be very scairt.

Here's a short video of her playing her "Bang! Bang! You're dead!" game. Mom wants to train me to do that...NOT!!!

Now, that's quite a set up!

Mom is constantly moving our tunnel and here's her latest creation.

Hangin' at ma sink

This is probably my mostest favoritest place to hang and sleep. Whenever Mom turns the water on I come a runnin' like a little bat out of "you-know-what" to get ready to lick the water drops off the bowl and under the faucet. Mom knows this is gonna happen, so she braces herself for my presence.

A bit of trivia this Valentine's Day

When our Momma was married, guess what her last name was? You will not believe this, but it really, really is true! HEART! Isn't that just too cool? She even had pink checks with white hearts on them.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all the furriends who visit our blog.

Mom is doing okay after her fall. Lots of aches in her bones. She even dug out the heating pad last night. The reason she slipped in the parking lot was because they hadn't plowed and yesterday when she came to work they still hadn't plowed. She was in panic mode but was able to get inside without falling again. And guess what it's gonna do later? Yep! Snow again! Come on, give us a break!!!

Mom! What's that on my face?

Mom reassured me that it was just the sun shining on my face and furs. We haven't seen it in so long, I got scairt and thought I was gonna burn up. It's out there again today. But if Mom says it's safe to look, then I will trust her judgement.

Yesterday when Mom was leaving work and walking to her car (it was snowing...yeah, what else is new!) she slipped and fell down on her keester. She was so embarrassed and hoped no one was around to see her clutziness she got up as quickly as she could but slipped and fell down again! She was covered in snow and her knee hurted so much she was scairt she broked it. She managed to limp over to the car but still had the task of cleaning off all the snow. She was terrified she'd fall again, but didn't. Whew! We don't need our servant out of commission! When she got home she hung up all her clothes to dry, rubbed on some icey/hot and took 3 advil. Today she's fine...thank God!

Mom's favorite place on earth

She wishes she was back at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. She is so sick and tired of winter and all the snows, ice and sub-zero weather. We, of course, would go with her. But we would have to be careful not to get to close to the edge! It's a long way down!
It doesn't snow or get really cold in Ireland. Just lots of rain, but that's how everything stays so green. There are 40 shades of green there.

See the changes

This is my nose when I was about 10 weeks old. My "nose rings" are very small and light.

Now after 9 months, see how much bigger and darker my "nose rings" have gotten.

Happy Birthday to my sweet Cerise

My baby would have been 18 today. She crossed the bridge last June 18. I still miss her so much.

Another great hiding spot

Watch out Lilly! I'm ready for you!
I'm glad you all liked my designer cube. I have two of them. Mom thinks she got them at Target.

Hiding from Lilly

Here I am hiding in my cube waiting for Lilly to come out from behind the couch. Surprise attack in her future! heeheehee!

Would you say this is weird?

I am ashamed to even admit to this, but our Mom saves our furs she combs out of us and keeps it in baggies. This is what she has combed out of me since I was a little baby kitten. I'm 9 months old, so this is 9 months worth. For a long time she would comb me and no furs would come out so she thought, "Hey, this is great! Finally a long haired kitty that doesn't shed." Hahahahaha! She's eating those words now! Once she counted 20 bags full of Cerise's furs but finally got rid of them and just kept one. She has fur baggies from all of us, even our buddy Angel, who she cat sits for who lives by us. Do any of your Moms exhibit this weird practise?

We got an award!

< Thank you to PoppyQ for our beautiful award! We are so excited and especially so because it's pink and pink is our favorite color.

We are on winter snow advisory AGAIN!!! Boohoohoo!!! Tonight they are predicting we could get up to a foot of snow depending on what track it takes. Well, we are sick of the snow and we would like it furry much if it would take a track away from us please!

Mom's excuse for not making the bed today

Lilly decided this morning before her day long nap was the purrfect time for a bath.

She has lot's of furs to clean!

You cannot believe how horribly ugly it is here today! It's foggy, we got more snow and today they are saying we could get thunderstorms before the weather turns again and 6 more inches of snow. We hate Chicago weather! It changes every 5 minutes, right Sophie?

Double decker kitties

We love to help Mom sort and do laundry. We will be very busy today helping her do 4 loads! There better be lots of Temptations and stinky goodness in this for us!

Here are the pictures again

We could see then okay but we are posting them again for those who couldn't.

Roomba has visitors

On the left is Roomba's mom, Eureka, eating stinky goodness. This picture was taken the day before the big snow storm.

Eureka's newest kitten that Mom named MiniMe as she is the spitting image of Eureka.

MiniMe has discovered the comfort of the tent and bedding inside.

Mom was so busy at work yesterday she didn't even have time to take pictures of the snow where these kitties live. She had to dig out a hole in the bushes on Roomba's side and shovel around the tent (which was safe and MiniMe was in there when she got to work) but other than that they were fine. Roomba was a bit out of sorts for a while because of all the snow plows and shoveling going on. MiniMe was playing in the snow on the sidewalk and Mom was laughing so hard because she's never seen a cat play like that in the snow. She was having a blast jumping around, sliding and playing hockey with the little snow clumps.

12 hours later

Twelve hours later and it's STILL snowing! We think we've had about 7 or 8 inches so far and an additional 4 is expected before it tapers off later in the day. Mom got home safe last night but was sliding all over the roads, like everyone else. She has to go over a big bridge and wasn't sure her car was going to make it. She couldn't get any traction. Everytime they plow a little while later it doesn't even look like they did. Good day to stay inside and watch from INSIDE! Mom is anxious to get to work and check on/dig out Roomba, Eureka and MiniMe. (Roomba's mom and her baby)
